Is
the Good Karma Program only available on group health insurance
policies?
No. The
Good Karma Program extends to all family and individual health
insurance policies as well.
What exactly is "Good Karma?" How does the Good
Karma Program produce Good Karma?
The term
Karma, when literally translated, means, "To do."
More completely, Karma is intentional and willful action (including
thought) of two categories, skillful and wholesome, versus
unskillful and unwholesome. Karmic law explains that the end
result, or fruit, of any action is a direct response to the
intentional action itself. The Good Karma Program produces
Good Karma for our clients because it allows them to be a
part of a skillful and wholesome intentional act to support
the progressive movement of society.
What does the Good Karma Program cost me?
The Good
Karma Program costs our clients nothing. If you already have
a health insurance policy and you change your Broker of Record
to Stepping Stone, 1% of the premium you are already paying
for your current health insurance policy is paid to the Good
Karma Program Partner of your choice. If you purchase an individual
health insurance policy or group health insurance policy through
Stepping Stone, you receive the lowest rates available, receive
friendly and expert customer service paying no more for your
policy than you would elsewhere, and 1% of your health insurance
premium is paid to the Good Karma Program Partner of your
choice.
Can
I deduct the Good Karma Donation from my income tax?
No. Good
Karma donations are made on your behalf by Stepping Stone
Insurance Services. However, notification is sent to the Good
Karma Partner detailing who has selected their organization
for this program and what the quarterly contribution from
that business or individual is.
Do
I have to buy my insurance through you in order to be eligible
to make a Good Karma donation?
Stepping
Stone Insurance Services must be your Broker of Record on
your health insurance policy. On a group health insurance
policy, this is easily changed through submission of a Broker
of Record change letter to your insurance carrier. Our website
provides a sample
BROKER OF RECORD
LETTER. Changing the Broker on an individual health
insurance policy can be more difficult. Please contact us
if you have an individual health insurance policy that you
would like to change and we will do our best to assist you.
What
is a Broker of Record Letter? How does it affect my employee's
insurance?
A BROKER
OF RECORD LETTER is a letter to your insurance
carrier that allows the transfer of your servicing agent on
your policy to a selected new broker. The change of broker
is effective the first of the month following receipt of the
letter by your insurance carrier. This change does not affect
your benefits, rates, or any other aspect of your health insurance
policy.
How
often are donations made to your Good Karma Program Partners?
Donations
payouts are made on a quarterly basis; March, June, September
and December.
